Singing in the Rain

A beautiful family, perfect location, awful weather! It literally was raining through the entire shoot. Luckily there was a lot of trees to keep us dry and all of them were such great models. Even their oldest boy who was serious in the beginning started to crack some smiles when we started singing some songs. They were such a joy to photograph and I was so happy with the outcome even with very dark skies and a lot of rain! I hope you love them, "D" family as much as I do!

Heatwave!

This weather has been crazy! It's rainy and ridiculously hot. So even though it was close to 100 degrees outside, we took our chances on one of the few clear days in a while. This family was such good sports despite the heat and it was so fun capturing their playing. Hope you like them "B" family!

Baby Zzzzzz

I forgot how tiny newborns are! Sweet Baby Z. wanted to socialize for most of the shoot but when we swaddled him for the outside pictures he passed out! I was so happy with these and kept saying, "awwww" every time I went back to them. Enjoy!

Guest Photos

We just got back from a two week trip to see my family and while we were visiting I asked my mom (who is a phenomenal photographer) if she would do some family photos. We decided to shoot our photos at this old train yard since I wanted an industrial feel for the photos. I LOVED the location and wish I had a place just like it here in VA! So these are just a few of my favorites, thanks Mom!

Birthday Boy

This birthday boy was so sweet and content to sit and smile for the camera. His mom wanted a country setting and I think his little overalls and red rocking chair were perfect additions. He took a little while to really dig into his cake and in the end I think his feet had more cake on them than his face! Here's a few of my favorites.

Karma

My oldest is turning three this week so I thought it'd be nice to take him out for some pictures, just me and him. I figured it'd be nice and easy, just go play outside and snap some pictures. Oh how wrong I was.
A little bit about my background, I come from a family of professional photographers, both my parents were amazing photographers and one of my sisters majored in ph
otography and now also does it professionally. So of course us kids often ended being the subjects to photograph and I'll be honest, I was not the best subject. She'd offer bribes, promise it would be a short shoot, anything to just get us to sit still and smile! So when my own children started getting fed up with a camera following them all the time, I called my mom and asked,"why is it that my own children HATE getting their pictures taken?" All I heard was laughing and then she said, "Karma Christine....karma.".
So this mini-session was my karmic-payback for all those years I wasn't more willing to pose for my mom's photos. Sorry Mom. :)

Beautiful boys (yes they're mine :) )

Sometimes it's hard to get good shots of my boys. They pretty much ignore me when I pull out the camera so when I get some nice pictures of them, it's a big deal! I've been doing some studio shots so here are a few I've managed to capture that I think really show my boys personalities.
